New Delhi: In contrast to negative sentiments around mass segment diesel vehicles and rising fuel prices leading to decline in sales, Mercedes Benz India foresees diesel powered vehicles as one of the fundamentals of its success, going forward.
Michael Jopp, Mercedes-BenzIndia's vice president for sales & marketing, is of the opinion that the BS VI diesel engines are as clean as a BS VI petrol car and the company would continue investing in diesel technology.
"We continue to invest in clean diesel technology and we see this as one of the fundamentals of success going forward. We don't see a significant shift between petrol and diesel in long term and even in short term," Jopp told ETAuto.
