Cache County’s administration building will no longer be at risk during power outages after a large diesel generator is installed on Sunday.
Currently, all of the county’s online services, including the website and phones, go offline during power outages, which can be hard on the servers and electronic equipment. With the new generator, however, backup batteries will keep everything online for a few seconds until the generator kicks in.
“Nowadays we don’t really have file cabinets, we have data stored in servers … it’s pretty important that we keep them up and keep them up running well,” Gardner said.
