What is the Trusted Technology to Respond and Rebuild from Harvey?

Our thoughts are with people throughout Texas who are struggling with the devastating flooding. As Texas looks to respond and rebuild from Hurricane Harvey, diesel technology will be vital to get the job done quickly.

As the rain has stopped and once the waters start to recede from the Houston area, the region will need to move water and debris, refuel first responders, restore electricity and rebuild communities. Diesel technology will be the technology to get it all done.

When it comes to preparedness, response, resiliency and rebuilding after a natural disaster, diesel technology is the technology of choice. Communities across Texas will look to diesel technology to complete these tasks to restore storm ravaged communities.

One of the unique benefits of diesel technology is its unmatched energy density that can be delivered to just about any location on the earth.  A fleet of mobile diesel-powered generators and fuel can be dispatched to quickly to restore electricity to mission critical centers like hospitals, shelters, communication towers and can also power water pumping stations.

Diesel is also the technology of choice for most off-road equipment like excavators, bulldozers and loaders that will be responsible for moving debris – a necessary first step in the rebuilding process. Diesel is also the technology of choice for large Class 8 trucks that will deliver food and vital supplies to help feed, clothe and provide medical supplies to storm ravaged communities. Ninety-nine percent of these Class 8 trucks are powered by diesel. Large first responder vehicles including ambulances, firetrucks and mobile command centers are also powered by diesel and deliver mission critical services to communities in Texas.
