Manufacturers are still overwhelmingly committed to even more efficiency gains using the industry standard – the diesel engine.
MTU America Inc. based in Novi, Michigan, is the American regional headquarters of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
Under the MTU brand, they develop and produce high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships and heavy land, rail and defence vehicles, as well as drive systems for use in the oil and gas industry and in power generation. The aim is to make diesel engines even cleaner and smarter. With their Green and High-Tech programme they provide forward-looking answers to the growing challenges of the mobility and energy transition focusing on electrified drive systems as well as alternative fuels and energy sources such as gas. Under the MTU Onsite Energy brand, they build diesel gensets for emergency, base-load and peak-load power requirements, as well as co-generation plants for combined heat and power based on gas engines.
