Success Stories
Throughout the past several years, many of the nation's air quality nonattainment and maintenance areas have turned to diesel emission reduction programs to achieve cost-effective emissions reductions - with great success. Programs have included retrofits to on-road vehicles and equipment like grocery trucks, transit and school buses; in addition to off-road engines found in farm and construction equipment, and marine vessels. This section of the tool kit profiles several success stories of diesel emission reduction strategies from around the country that can help serve as a model for implementing your own program. The success stories in this tool kit offer background on the program or project, as well as details on the emissions reductions strategies and the expected or achieved emissions benefits where available. Each success story also includes project contact information. If you are aware of other CMAQ funded projects not captured in this chart, please contact the DTF Technical & Policy Programs Director. |
