Ocean Vessels To/From California Switching to Clean Diesel
A new regulation from the California Air Resources Board announced on July 24, 2008, requires that ocean-going vessels within 24 nautical miles of California’s coastline use lower-sulfur diesel fuel. This transformation to clean diesel technology across many modes of transportation, including construction machines, commercial trucks, new passenger cars and now even ocean-going container vessels, is a testament to the viability of today’s clean diesel as an environmentally-friendly fuel choice.
