Georgia CMAQ Funds Available for Retrofit Projects

CMAQ funding is currently available for diesel retrofit projects in the Metro-Atlanta region. The Georgia Environmental Protection Department is administering the funds, which include approximately $2 million for school bus retrofits and $3 million for other diesel vehicles. Any public or private fleet can qualify for the funding, provided they use EPA or CARB verified technology, keep the equipment/vehicles in the area’s 20 nonattainment counties for five years and provide at least a 20 percent match in cash or in-kind services. Proposals are welcome and will be considered as long as funding remains available.
