Diesel Forum Questions Costs, Benefits of Port of Long Beach CA Choice of LNG Trucks
California has been at the forefront pushing for cleaner diesel engines and fuels, and the diesel industry and fuel refiners have delivered the first wave of this new cleaner technology. With new Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, on average new diesel vehicles now have near equivalent or lower emissions compared to LNG vehicles, which raises questions about the Port of Long Beach’s Clean Truck plan that requires no less than 50 percent of all drayage trucks serving the port to use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
