Diesel-electric Hybrid Platforms Place First and Second in GM/DOE X-Challenge for Sustainable Mobility

In the Crossover to sustainable mobility engineering competition (Challenge X) first and second places went to Mississippi State and University of Wisconsin-Madison teams – both of which used diesel engines running on biodiesel mated to a parallel hybrid powertrain to beat out the competition. Twelve of the 17 teams entered used a diesel engine running on renewable fuels. Read the full article.
