$550M To Fund New Clean-Air Freight Plan
PORT: Money will go toward replacing dirty diesel trucks, other high-polluting equipment.
Following months of intense lobbying by local elected leaders and community members, the state has awarded $550 million to fund clean-air initiatives tied to freight moved through local trade corridors.
Money will help speed up replacement of dirty diesel trucks, old cargo-handling equipment and polluting locomotives and ships moving freight between local seaports and Inland Empire distribution centers.
