State Legislators Meet Clean Diesel On The Road To Clean Diesel During National Conference Of State Legislatures Annual Meeting

From August 15-18, the Diesel Technology Forum and its members introduced clean diesel to more than 6,000 state legislators and legislative staff, providing the opportunity for these key individuals to experience the Road to Clean Diesel during the 2006 National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) annual meeting in Nashville.

In addition to advertising, sponsoring the main attendee luncheon for 4000 guests, hosting a 20’ x 20’ exhibit booth and giving away a $500 fuel card, the Forum created the Road to Clean Diesel, an interactive outdoor technology demonstration that included four exits along an outdoor path: Cleaner Fuel, Cleaner Engines, Retrofit and Cleaner Cars.

Numerous legislators took advantage of this unique opportunity to meet clean diesel and speak directly with industry experts. 200 NCSL attendees officially registered at the Road to Clean Diesel display, including:
·16 state senators from 14 states
·42 state house representatives from 25 states
·51 legislative staff
·2 U.S. Department of Energy representatives including Alexander Karsner, Assistant Secretary, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, U.S. Department of Energy

Participating DTF members included BMW, BP, Caterpillar, Corning, Cummins Emission Solutions, Detroit Diesel, Honeywell, International Truck & Engine, Johnson Matthey, Robert Bosch Corporation and Volkswagen.

NCSL will hold their 2007 annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts from August 5-9, 2007– mark your calendars now for another successful event!
