A new generation of clean ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel introduced in 2006 now fuels the majority of all highway vehicles and will soon be used in all off-road equipment as well. It has enabled a new generation of fuel efficient, low-CO2 clean diesel car and SUV choices for U.S. consumers. Government policies on fuel efficiency and renewable fuels point to a decline in gasoline demand. Meanwhile, growing global demand for diesel fuel has led to price increases and decisions by many fuel producers to expand their diesel refining capacity. Join the Diesel Technology Forum for a 90 minute webinar to learn how global fuel demand, the growth of renewable fuels and tax policies affect diesel fuel prices and their implications for U.S. consumers and the economy. Representatives from the U.S. DOE Energy Information Administration (EIA), the National Biodiesel Board and leading industry experts will discuss these topics and respond to questions.
Funding for Clean Diesel Activities from the 2009 Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA): How to Improve the Competitiveness of Your Application
In a webinar hosted by the Diesel Technology Forum, EPA representatives and previous grant winners explain how applications for funding from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) are evaluated and how to improve the competitiveness of your proposal. The Recovery Act provides $300 million for Clean Diesel activities. The 2009 EPA Appropriations include an additional $60 million that will be available later in 2009 for clean diesel activities.
Topics include:
- Can private entities apply for funds?
- How do we estimate emission reductions and cost effectiveness?
- Are matching funds required?
- How are applications evaluated?
