October 15, 2007 It’s always nice to have a fan. Dipping into the DTF website mailbox, a recent entry came from California, where a dieselforum.org visitor was thoroughly impressed by his experience with a new diesel car. Driving from Denver, CO to Carlsbad, CA, his Mercedes E320 BLUETEC averaged almost 37 miles to the gallon.
This is just one of the many consumers being surprised by the advantages of clean diesel vehicles. Fro... [more] Comments (0)

October 2, 2007 Beginning yesterday, cleaner diesel fuel was available nationwide at filling stations for off-road vehicles. This pivotal milestone is the latest success for diesel-powered farming, construction and mining equipment, making their heavy-duty applications cleaner than ever before. By the end of the 2007, all off-road diesel equipment is required to use low-sulfur diesel fuel to significantly reduce emissions. This fuel, coupled with new engines and exhaust treatment systems will have a huge env... [more] Comments (0)

September 12, 2007 Virginia’s ports have skipped the switch to low sulfur diesel (sulfur content of 500 ppm) and are instead using an even cleaner blend of diesel fuel—ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD, with a sulfur content of 15 ppm). The switch comes three years earlier than required by the EPA and the transition has been seamless, according to Joseph A. Dorto, general manager of VIT, the nonprofit operating agency of the Virginia’s ports.
